A beautiful twinkling ray of light came my way today. As we left the black market and sped through downtown Cusco in our taxi, the unmistakeable calypso of 'Test Match Special' blasted from the radio. Immediately I was transported from the green Andes to yellow wickets, warm beer (historical of course) and Bob Willis storming in to attempt to hit Gordon 'the grinder' Greenidge on the head.
It's much quieter in Cusco today as most of the people who couldn't get to Machu Picchu because of the strike yesterday seem to have gone today. Salvador's development continues apace, he can now hail taxi's in the street by sticking his arm out in the traditional way, he will not be encouraged to do this in Lima as he is likely to come back minus a limb.
