Our complicated relationship with Cusco continues. On the days when not much happens my feelings get amplified. I spent most of today doing figure work for the cafe which meant I was up in the office most of the time. This was after battling to get Salvador to have his breakfast because Esther was absolutely finished after her second night without sleep. 'Grizzly Man' had a similar effect on her as 'Brokeback Mountain', tonight we are watching 'Proof' with the fragrant Gwyneth Paltrow, mother of Apple and wife of Cardboard Chris Martin. I am hoping that a movie about maths will calm the sleep patterns a bit. Looking out across the Andes all day is pretty wonderful, from the wispy clouds hanging over the mountains in the morning to the black ink sky at night with only the huge shadows of the peaks giving away where we are. In between the ever changing view down the valley reminds me why I came to live here in the first place. Despite all that, a spin around Tesco's in Swindon seems equally attractive at the moment. I said it was complicated, or maybe it's me. Had a good laugh with the staff tonight as they displayed all the vegetables in the cafe to a group of baffled Brazilian tourists who were obviously in search of meat. The undoubted charm of Ali, Valerio & Miriam persuaded them to stay, despite their carnivorous preference, considering that it's the preference of the three of them too they are incredibly convincing.
