Yesterday we went to Miraflores to get a couple of things for the café and a book for Matthia to read on the plane.
Last night just before we went to San Isidro to see Ceci, Camillo & to give Matthia his present, Chaska rang to say that she was on her way to see us and had got lost.
It was a typical piece of Peruvian advance warning but never fear, Esther’s Mum looked after her during the evening.
At Ceci’s, Salvador was on great form, giving as good as he got when Matthia wouldn’t share his toys.
Chaska was here when we got back and showed us her graduation pictures from Ayacucho, she left very early this morning but is hoping to see us again before we leave for Cusco.
Esther and I have both had bad stomachs for the past twenty four hours, probably due to the intense heat or possibly another delicious Iced Mango drink bought on the street yesterday.
Today we thought it was better to stay at home until Daniela’s 3rd birthday party at 4pm.
So all day Esther and I have been competing for the bathroom.
Always keen to please his parents with alternative ideas, young Salvador excelled himself today.
I was asleep but Esther filled the paddling pool for him, he rewarded her with his view on a possible escape route should the toilet be occupied.
In Esther’s words he created his own submarine to play with, luckily she was able to extract him from the pool before the U-Bend Boat made it into his hands.
This year the kids party didn’t feature the polyester suited Barney that made me feel like I was on LSD last time.
It also tried to rain halfway through, highly unusual for Lima.
What did amaze me was the quantity of sweets available for the children, bowl after bowl of tooth rotting delight and even the tiniest babies were happily slurping away on lollipops.
Being cruel parents Salvador was allowed one crisp and a cup of Chicha Morada.
