After watching the second half on the internet flicking between the BBC and The Guardian, I dived back home to watch the penalties.
Suddenly Simone rushed in and said that the microwave was filling the kitchen with smoke and she couldn't get it to stop.
We ran to the kitchen and sure enough it was full of acrid and strange smelling smoke.
Esther opened the oven and pulled out the Microwaveable Popcorn she had put inside and promptly forgotten about.
The house now stinks of burnt popcorn, burnt butter and burnt packaging.
When I got back to the cafe, a couple came in and asked if I spoke English,
'Yes' I replied,
'We want some vegetarian food'
'Everything is vegetarian'
'Well, we are from Madras, so we should have the Madras Curry'
This sort of thing is a real confidence tester, it has happened before but it is never any less daunting.
Clean plates later, an enquiry as to whether we open in the evening and a nice tip told the story of how our Madras via Swindon & Cusco Curry went down.
