Magda brought her little girl Shadira around yesterday afternoon to play with Salvador.
Shadira is a month younger than Salvador but rounder.
It took about half an hour of stand off before they started playing together.
There were no fights or tantrums and some impressive toy sharing went on too.
I am trying to weigh up whether or not to play football this afternoon, to be honest I’m a bit knackered but on the other hand I think the exercise might do me good.
A lot depends on how busy the café is today.
Last night we had a late finish.
I had an interesting conversation with a couple from Belgium about real Peruvian culture, for once I cut the picture postcard crap and I think they got an insight into a country that has so far baffled them.
As I finished with them, a group of extremely enthusiastic Swansea and Spurs fans burst into the café, desperate to meet the Swindon fan who lives in Cusco.
The Swansea fans were keen to know if their signing of Rory Fallon (his picture saved on mobile phone of one of them) for £300,000 was good value and were very sympathetic about Swindon’s relegation.
After an hour long drunken barrage of questions and anecdotes, they were gone.
It was good to see their obvious excitement and genuine wonder at the marvels of Cusco, sadly I get more used to travel weary visitors who can only pick up on the bad things here.
I managed to watch the first half of the FA Cup Final before coming to Moni today, despite the obvious excitement of the match, the highlight so far for me has been the caption which flashed up at the start of the game ;

‘FA Cup Final, Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, Wales, England’
