On this sort of trip a snack is essential
Today we took a trip outside Cusco and into the Sacred Valley of the Inca's.
Miguel our driver picked us up at 8am and we zig-zagged our way up to Sacsayhuaman the Inca fortress that overlooks Cusco, first.
Down below THE ROCK was undoubtedly impressing the ladies once more, people were being ripped off by taxi drivers and my former barber was taking his first gulp of surgical spirit.
But today, none of that for us.
Once we had admired the view and tried to find Moni amongst the red rooves, we headed for Pisac.
On the way we stopped at a market and an excellent farm which had Alpaca's, Llama's & Vicuna's on view.
We had great fun watching Salvador feed them.
Pisac itself has changed almost beyond recognition.
Once fruit and veg were the town's mainstay, now it's painting's, rugs, T-shirts and jumpers.
The dollar has taken over.
We had a good lunch in Yucay and then went on to Ollantaytambo for a look at the impressive ruins there.
Tomorrow we'll have a good rest before our trip to Machu Picchu on Thursday.
