PeruRail today - $105 for a ticket to Machu Picchu, office full of people wanting to buy their tickets, one person serving very slowly, no supervisor on duty.

So, we are back in Cusco after a very busy time in Lima.
We spent a lot of time charging all over the city trying to get stuff for Moni that is not available in Cusco.
We managed to bump into Jane in Jockey Plaza which was a very strange experience that far from Cusco but it was great to sit down and have a coffee with her.
We still managed to take Dan on a few trips around the city, including my personal favourite the Gold Museum, not for the gold but for the incredible 'Arms of The World' museum.
We are still getting used to being back in Cusco but are getting more familiar with the city again after a couple of hours spent in Peru Rail to collect our tickets for the trip to Machu Picchu.
Peru Rail has no idea of customer service and only had one person serving with forty people waiting.
It's the high season here and they not only rip tourists off but make them wait for ages as well.
I also had to spend a long time waiting at the opticians, the new contact lenses I got in Lima are not turning out to be very good so I had some more measurements taken today.
With our trip to the jungle only a week away I want to make sure that I can see things perfectly.
Moni is very busy, as is Cusco generally, the city is swarming with tourists.
And as I said all along , France & Italy have made the final of the World Cup with the nearly English Thierry Henry getting my support on Sunday.
