The taxi driver back from the bus station to Moni had a very interesting gearstick (not only did the skull's eyes light up, so did the picture of the saint behind it)
I had a massive row in the street this morning with the idiots who collect rubbish for the council.
As their lorry frequently passes the cafe full and doesn't stop, Miriam and I put the rubbish in the street cleaners bins this morning whilst they were skiving.
About half an hour later one of them appeared in the cafe with one of our receipts in his hand he had fished out of the rubbish.
He threatened to bring our bin bags back over and empty them onto the floor of the cafe.
I went out to the bins with him, where he was joined by three of his little binmen friends who proceeded to lecture me about the law of the bins in Cusco.
I just don't want my business full of rotting rubbish because the council can't be bothered to collect it, did not prove to be a valid argument.
Nor did pointing out to them that thanks to their superb work we have to wade through piss and shit in Cabracancha every day.
They told me we would be fined for not throwing our rubbish away in the right place, other businesses in Cusco dump their rubbish in the street for dogs to open the bags and spread everywhere, this of course, is alright.
Once they started taking our address down to inform their colleagues back at the council I really lost it.
And when one of them swore at me as I walked off I lost it some more.
Thankfully my threat of bringing the police to have a chat with them worked and they suddenly decided they would take our rubbish after all.
When we spoke to the head of street cleaning in Cusco he told us to leave our rubbish on the street corner at 8pm every night from now on so that the dogs can rip the bags apart.
It's a shame that such filthy, vile and ignorant people live in a beautiful city like this.
After all that we went to Chincheros this afternoon with Dan and had a great time. It was nice to unwind away from Cusco and it's constant arguments and rip offs.
