After an interesting couple of days I am back at home.
The treatment I got at the Clinica Paredes was fantastic although somewhat bizarre.
Being operated on by a pregnant woman in an operating theatre with bin bags for curtains is something I won't forget for a while.
The bin bags made a re-appearance on the feet of everyone else in the room too.
I now have six stitches and a plastic mesh installed which should stop this happening again.
Thank you to everyone for their best wishes, either over the internet or in person. Gary and David's visit in particular nearly split me open again. At least Fiona was able to keep me calm. A big thank you too to Jane and Jack for distracting Esther & Salvador.
I have to go back to the doctor on Monday and have the stitches out later next week.
At the moment it's all still quite painful but should get better each day.
The best doctor in Cusco, Dr. Yermoli Lazarate La Torre & his wife Dr. Alvis might just have sorted me out.
