With the obligatory day old chicks travelling in the lap of the child in front of me and the bus dangerously overloaded, I made the trip to Pisac at lunchtime.
About an hour from Cusco, the journey loops through the Andes passing mountains, cliffs, waterfalls and loads of Llamas.
Eventually we got there, it´s never the same without Esther moaning about the temperature, smell or noise.
I went straight to the painters studio to find the door shut and bolted.
I asked someone on another stall if the owner had been seen today and found out that he was at lunch.
I went for a ten minute wander and then returned to discover that he had opened again.
The picture he has painted is perfect and he proudly talked me around the details before rolling it into a piece of grey plastic downpipe for the journey.
After trying to ring Esther I had pizza and then made the reverse journey in an even more crowded bus to Cusco.
