It´s not every day a bank knocks on your door at home to say sorry but that´s exactly what happened this morning.
After complaining to their office in Canada and then to the boss in Lima about the terrible service at their branch in Cusco, Scotiabank certainly tried to put things right today.
After a chat on the sofa and profuse apologies our visitor was gone.
Later we went down to open a new account and were greeted with smiles and ushered into the manager´s office for a chat.
"Whatever you need, ask me first" said Oscar the manager, I could sense Esther stifling a giggle caused by this unbelievably different and personal service.
We did our business and got smiles from the chappy who was crappy last time.
A bit better than Telefonica earlier this year, when I wrote to Madrid three times earlier in the year, I never got the courtesy of a reply and certainly not a home visit.
Esther has just got back from the police station where she was trying to organise permission for us to move our stuff to Lima, apparently we have to supply bills and receipts for everything or a solicitors letter, oh joy, give me Mr Shifter and his fellow Chimps any day.
