Salvador got to see a real live Potoo today, actually it was a Tawny Frogmouth but that will just have to do.
Far more exciting was the ability to go out and be able to order jacket potatoes with beans, as yet uninvented in the ancestral home of the potato.
It was good to go to the wildlife park in low season as well because the place wasn't so full and it was easier to get around.
I am already turning into one of those people I used to smile at in Cusco - 'well we loved Machu Picchu .... but there were sooooo many tourists ....'.
Talking of Cusco, apparently the weather is pretty diabolical at the moment and is depressing everyone at Moni, usually it's a bit better towards the end of December so here's hoping.
The last thing they want is the annual fair in the Plaza de Armas on Boxing Day being rained on, it is bad enough, filthy enough and smelly enough as it is.
