We saw Mum & Dad off at the airport last night, the saddest moment of our return to Peru so far. After all of the fantastic practical and emotional support they have given us, returning across Lima to Santa Anita was like travelling through a huge void. Lights whizzed past us and the taxi driver droned on , our minds were most certainly elsewhere. Salvador has a lovely picture in a frame of the three of them in Barranco the day before yesterday with the Pacific as a backdrop. He will also soon become a keen geographer because we bought him a map of the world for his wall this morning. We walked and walked and walked this morning, through Miraflores and under the shade of the trees in Avenida Arequipa. Some days you just have to walk to think properly and with the amount of reflection going on today we could have worn out a few pairs of shoes.
