Here is an update on what Salvador can now do, nothing spectacularly different from any other 16 month old I should think, but impressive to us and all done in a uniquely Salvadorean way.

  • Say 'Mama', 'Papa', 'Agua' & 'Printer'
  • Suck though a straw
  • Touch his nose, ears and eyes, when asked which is which
  • Operate the TV and Video remote controls
  • Operate the volume controls to ear splitting or silent effect at the worst possible moments
  • Flush the toilet
  • Run (almost)
  • Bite his sleeping father's head
  • Eat CD's and DVD's
  • Destroy DVD cases
  • Kiss himself in the mirror
  • Propel himself solo on his toy truck
  • Make an empty handed, 'where did that go?' gesture when 'Lazy Town' ends
  • Create Vegetarian Nappies of Mass Destruction
  • Tell the difference between a Barn Owl and a Peruvian Screech Owl (maybe, maybe not but it looked like it to me)
  • Point to Ali, Valerio & Miriam in the cafe and wave goodbye
  • Carry a 1.5 litre bottle of Inca Kola to his father when asked
