(umbrella's guarding ice creams and dubious meals)
We decided to get out and about early this morning before the chaos starts later on.
We wanted to get some pictures of the election process to quench the thirst for information that we know exists outside Peru.
The streets were quite full but mainly with street vendors trying to squeeze whatever business they could from the people queuing to vote.
Selling anything from corn to soup and full plated meals emerging from buckets they are the ones who stand to gain the most today.
We have just been watching the TV coverage of Humala voting in Lima and the reception he got from the other voters was not very friendly, shouts of murderer were combined with a barrage of missiles. He has been trapped in the polling station for over an hour now as a human barricade has been formed to prevent his exit, even a police cordon hasn't been able to get him out so far. This will not be a boring 24 hours.
